Open letter to President Kibaki

Your Excellency,
I dont expect that you know me even though i once met you at the DP Headquarters, when we sought your wisdom as the then student leaders from the University of Nairobi. I didnt expect to meet you after our first meeting, because i am not a golf fanatic.

I voted for you in 1997, and 2002. I believed in your principles and your total focus on economy as opposed to mere 'siasa'. I knew that your were best placed to lead Kenya because of your contempt for small talk and 'siasa'(politicking).


You became our president and forgot these principles...you allowed a small cabal of thieves to sorround you and give you advice. you protected the same thieves at a very big expense..you allienated people who put you into power and called them 'wapumbavu'(stupid)...you started behaving like your wife Lucy, easily irritated and full of yourself.

now you are in a tight corner. Kenyans have rejected your government(it was not just the consitution , it was a vote on governance too). you have made history, being rejected by seven provinces out of eight....


i will give you advice though because i think i am a partriot who loves his country. I come from Northern kenya, a region that is traditionally marginalised(you promised us a marshall plan, but i know you were just being like everyone else....you didnt even travel to marasabit, when raiders massacred school kids)

anyway let me not get personal....in reconstituting your government, let me offer you suggestions

1)choose your cabinet from ordinary wanainchi....normal kenyans...we dont need politicians in these positions...depoliticise your cabinet..there are so many kenyans in civil society, the media, corporations etc who will do a very good job....and let them drive normal cars too...save money, so that you dont have to sell our wildlife to the Thais just to make an extra buck.

2)I am trusting that you know you ABSOLUTELY CANNOT bring back the thieves again....Murungaru and everyone who was involved in Anglo leasing scam needs to go, and they have to be prosecuted...
Kiraitu Murungi is NOT getting reappointed..i respected the Harvard educated Murungi, but he has been a total Buffoon....his big mouth needs to go chew miraaa in Meru..... Njenga Karume has been around too long...we have young kenyans who should be your focus now......NO MORE HOMEGUARDS AND COLONIAL CLOWNS OK?

3)You need to cancel every thing you did prior to the referendum...you went CRAZY and thought that kenya was your personal Kiosk.....Amboseli should revert to kenyans, the districts you created are just ABSURD....Come on EMILIO, dont pull aka MOI on us ok??


4)remember you have two more years...let your focus be economy, jobs and Health care...we have so may AIDS Orphans and i dont know how you can play golf in a country that loses 700 people to AIDS every day...SHAME ON YOU

5)Raila Odinga helped put you in power...work with this guy...he has so much energy that you shoud tap into...this guy is a smart politician...you need to be honest with yourself and understand that he is just not a 'jaluo'...he enjoys wide support from kenyans....you need to tell your little sidekicks(like that irritating Meru MP), to respect this guy....he is very independent and courageous....dont be dishonest with him...if you bring him back, you have to make sure you are not going to antagonise him again

6)You made a few gains..like the free education for our children...you have made the presidency honorable(and trashed it with the goodies you were dollying out before the referendum)....i admire your aloofness and contempt for politics.....you are very tolerant person...you gave your ministers alot of independence....that was good...but too much independence doesnt help us...you let them run their portfolios from 'barazas'...they were flying around in choppers at our expense...i dont know whether you were just tolerant or a coward.....i would have fired all these idiots a long time ago

7)Dont lie about the constitution this time...Kenyans want it now...the government should be out of it....dont midwife the process for us ok?. we need a new constitution not the colonial rubbish that we have been using

8)you dont need a kitchen cabinet anymore...read newspapers, listen to our FM stations ...that way you wouldnt have to rely on faulty intelligence from self seeking leaders and 'paper tigers'

9)You had some MOI remnants in you last cabinet......what the hell were you thinking?? Simeon Nyachae is an arrogant fool, and full of himself....you need to purge leaders who run us down before...dont recycle these idiots...you have 35 million people to choose from....STOP your irritating penchant for choosing old buddies...People like Karume...Ole Ntimama....PLEASE make your administration younger and fresher this time

Whatever side of the debate you are, i wish you the best. I know the last month has been very divisive and hopefully the spirit of having a good a constitution will ensure that in future, we dont recycle leaders who bleed us to death...I am sure majority of you are shocked at how the promise of Narc just crumbled in less than two years...I honestly think there are two classes of kenyans...the RICH and the POOR....naturally the 'kenyan leadership' is in the rich class...its full of of megalanomiacs, and 'professional politicians' who only collaborate and connive to rob us in the name of whatever is catchy at the moment...'democracy,constitution, ethnicity'...etc...i am shocked at how within two years, the same class of thieves have found unity....Simeon Nyachae is now Kibaki's friend...Biwott now doesnt have to worry about being prosecuted because he has found that you can redeem and salvage yourself by harping at ethnicity...ITS SAD...this lack of concern for mwanainchi

Yet Kenya holds promise, and the future might just depend on how fast we get rid of this class...we need to make the politicians irrelevant to our lives..the ordinary kenyan has so much to worry about, that nobody mentions or CARES....

and may be thats the problem...we give so much support to political causes that are totally irrelevant to majority of our people.....why go to rallies and listen to these eggheads who just dont care?the mwanainchi just fuels their absurd sense of importance,, by going to every forum they address to listen to the filth spewing from their mouths....we dont hold them accountable on the jobs that we voted them in for...we dont care whether they scrutinise bills that get passed(majority dont even go to parliament)....they dont question and debate issues in parliament but in barazas.....

and the presidency screws hard working kenyans by appealing to the greed of their leaders....dishing out our wealth with impunity, creating irrelevant administrative units(while existing ones dont even have resources)...can they just talk about economy, jobs, AIDS, orphans? well thats not their world...


i feel betrayed...i thought these words will only hold true to Moi' s government...i never thought i will write about NARC this way...never forget...these ignomaruses are all the same.....


.may be i am just mad....and wrong...

but i think i love kenya more than this class of thieves who want to ruin the lives of 35 million kenyans

I read the breaking news about kibaki dismissing the cabinet...hope there is no violence...

More importantly, I pray that he sees the chance he has and not to be vengeful and punish the orange team....

and also he will recognize that it takes 42 communities to govern and not just one


and in the new lineup, i hope he appoints all his cabinet ministers from citizenry not politicians....people like maina kiai....ministers who are not MPs


and then let the politicians complain, and grouse about ukabila


and then he shoud dissolve the parliament

and make them jobless

and we will still be poor

but better


We will be better without these politicians anyway
